Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
What areas do you serve?
We serve Colorado Springs and El Paso County exclusively. This includes Monument, Fountain, Security-Widefield, Falcon, Cimarron Hills, and surrounding communities. Our focused service area means faster response times and a genuine local presence—we’re not a regional contractor managing projects across the entire Front Range.
Do you work with residential customers?
No. Colorado Springs Cable Connections focuses exclusively on commercial clients—businesses, office buildings, retail facilities, warehouses, medical practices, and similar commercial environments. This focus lets us bring the right expertise and commercial-grade materials to every project we take on.
How long have you been in business?
Our founder has over 20 years of experience in commercial low-voltage installation right here in the Colorado Springs area. That local experience means we understand the building stock, permitting requirements, and business environment specific to El Paso County in a way that out-of-area contractors simply don’t.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes. Colorado Springs Cable Connections carries full general liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage. We’re happy to provide proof of insurance and bonding documentation before any project begins.
Do you offer emergency or after-hours service?
Contact us directly to discuss urgent project needs and we’ll do our best to accommodate your timeline.
Services Questions
What services do you offer?
We offer six core commercial low-voltage services: structured cabling and network infrastructure, security camera installation and CCTV systems, audio visual systems and conference room technology, access control and security systems, VoIP and business phone systems, and server room and wiring closet cleanup and organization. Visit our Services page for full details on each.
Can you handle multiple services on one project?
Absolutely. Many of our clients need more than one service at once—new office buildouts, for example, often require structured cabling, access control, security cameras, and conference room AV all at the same time. We coordinate all services under one project so you have a single point of contact rather than managing multiple contractors simultaneously.
Do you work on existing infrastructure or only new installations?
Both. We handle new installations in new or renovated spaces as well as upgrades, expansions, cleanups, and repairs to existing infrastructure. Whether you need 10 new cable drops, a full server room reorganization, or a security camera system added to an established facility, we approach every scope with the same level of care and documentation.
What brands and equipment do you work with?
We work with professional-grade commercial equipment from leading manufacturers. We’re vendor-neutral where appropriate—meaning we recommend the right equipment for your specific needs and budget rather than pushing a single brand.
Process & Project Questions
How does the process work from first contact to project completion?
It starts with a free site assessment where we visit your facility, understand your needs, and evaluate what the project requires. From there we provide a detailed written proposal with transparent scope, pricing, and timeline. Once approved, we schedule and complete the installation—working around your business hours to minimize disruption. Every project concludes with testing, documentation delivery, and any applicable training.
How long do projects typically take?
Timeline depends on project scope. A small office cabling installation with 20-30 drops typically takes 2-3 days. A server room cleanup may take 1-5 days depending on complexity. A complete office buildout combining cabling, cameras, and AV may take 1-3 weeks. We provide a specific timeline in every proposal so you know exactly what to expect before work begins.
Do you work after hours or on weekends to minimize disruption?
Yes. We understand that most commercial facilities can’t shut down for installation work. We routinely schedule installations during evenings, weekends, or in phases that allow your team to keep working while we complete the project. We’ll discuss your operational constraints during the site assessment and build a schedule that works for your business.
What documentation do I receive after a project?
Every project includes complete documentation relevant to the work performed. For cabling projects, this means test results for every cable run, a wiring diagram, and labeled port documentation. For server room projects, this includes cable schedules, port assignments, and equipment inventories. For AV and access control systems, you receive system configuration documentation and user guides. Documentation is delivered digitally in editable formats.
Do you provide warranties on your work?
Yes. We stand behind our workmanship on every project. Equipment carries manufacturer warranties which we pass through to our clients. We’re also locally available for any follow-up issues—you’re not waiting on a national support line.
Pricing Questions
How do you price your projects?
Every project is priced based on scope—the size of the space, number of devices, cable runs, equipment required, and complexity of the installation. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all pricing or surprise charges. Every proposal includes a detailed, itemized breakdown so you know exactly what you’re paying for before any work begins.
Do you provide free quotes?
Yes. We provide free site assessments and detailed written proposals with no obligation. We’ll visit your facility, understand your needs, and give you an honest, transparent quote based on exactly what your project requires.
Can you work within a specific budget?
We’ll always be upfront about what’s realistic within your budget. If your ideal scope exceeds your budget, we’ll help you prioritize—identifying what’s essential for immediate needs versus what can be phased in over time. We’d rather have an honest conversation about budget than oversell you on a system you don’t need.
